Instead, there are good people on both sides. There are bad people on both sides. And the two boys from opposite sides are caught. I do know what you wrote about - mainly from movies even better ones than Machuca - Innocent Voices is only one example of them. Plus who said that a movie should evoke alike emotions in people. I guess you have missed the point in my review too - but it was good to see your feedback. These people are not gypsies! These are people of mestizo or indigenous descent who are fighting to break out of poverty. You completely missed the point of this movie. I urge you to educate yourself about Latin American history and this period of Chilean history before you write a review of a movie like this. It is common knowledge that the CIA and American government provided funding and intelligence to carry out the assassination of Allende and the installation of Pinochet as dictator. Pinochet ordered the execution of over 3,000 and the torture of over 30,000 dissidents. Educate yourself “Indian/Gypsy inhabitants”? These people are not gypsies!
