Mean Creek

The truth is that I got a headache right after the final credits rolled. The day I saw this movie – being rainy and overall depressing – just added to the the atmosphere created by the film. Mean Creek – I doubt that I will see it twice – but this does not mean that I did not liked it. It really got me thinking – why because I have had my share of bulling in school – and naturally I wanted a revenge . Thankfully this never got me in a situation even remotely closer than the one showed in the movie.
The coming of age moments in this movie are mainly related to the character development – done nicely as while the movie rolls we learn a lot about its characters – to the very end of the movie in which we see scenes from the documentary home movie shot by the bully. If I have to note a movie that deals with the lost of innocence in a similar way that would be Stand by me – but of course Stand by me does not get that depressive .
