Billy Elliot – The Musical
Billy Elliot is a great movie -there is no doubt. I recently got its soundtrack and have to say that I am absolutely impressed. These days I also got the Billy Elliot Original Cast Recording from a musical based on the movie -- after hearing the songs from it -- I even got a video clip from the leading song Electricity -- and now I am confident that I must see the Billy Elliot the Musical at the Victoria Palace Theatre in London.I may have to wait until April to do that -- but it is already a dream of mine. I guess it is the idea of individuality that is attracting me so much -- but BE YOURSELF is a great slogan …don`t you think.
Once when you see how Liam Mower dances you may fall in love with the ballet. I actually have learned that he is a student at the Royal Ballet School “White Lodge” -- and I guess because of that his acting is so natural and realistic. I am sure that the other actors are at least as good. There is a pretty good chance that by the time I actually see that musical live I will know by heart all the lyrics and scenes of acting , but I am sure this will only boost my experience. It is a shame that one should go to London if he wants to see this masterpiece , but well…I found out that there are many other people who like the musical -- check out the sites below and see for yourself :

I got to excited watching some videos from this musical I even tried few dance steps myself ( I could have watched this video -- with dance lessons from Liam -- but I just found it)- the actors are in the cast should be really proud of themselves as they are inspiring people -- people like me and many other in the world. I didn`t know much about musicles before I found out about this one -- and I think that my interest in it would transfer to the whole genre.

It felt weird -- you know , my new place happens to be just across the national ballet school -- it is actually quite common to see some of the boys that live across the street -- through the window I mean and sometimes they dance in the their rooms -- the first time I saw one do a pirouette I though -- Oh my God its like watching the real Billy -- just across the street and then all of the sudden I become sad because as talented as these boys are my country does not seem to be advanced as much as UK is when it comes to culture values -- and a musical like BETM never happens around here. It is just so unfair for these talented lads and for me not being able to experience the magic ….

It has been 4 years since the Billy Elliot went from the screen to the theatre . The musical conquered the world and was performed for the audiences in New York London and Sydney . At 12th of May 2009 the 1700 th performance would cellebrate that and would welcome yet another talnanted youngster for the role of Billy : twelve year old Oliver Gardner.

I’m quite interested in the musical, too. Unfortunately, I haven’t yet had a chance to fly to UK and see the show; but I always check out the info. on forum of BETM.
Besides the original ones, there have been many Billys performing in the play: Leon Cooke, Travis Yates, Colin Bates, Metthew Koon, and the upcoming.

How do you know who is your favorite if you haven’t seen everyone’s performance?
Well I have watched a lot of videos – while live performance would be different I still can get some kind of idea – to me Liam gets into the music and the dance – and he used to be at the Royal balley school – there are few interviews of him and he seems really cool as a person as well.
I hope there will be DVD(s) of BETM!
I hope that too ! The musicle is as good as the movie if not better – it does deserve a DVD – and so do we- the fans!

I think colin bates is the best billy eliot. He shows a great deal of talent for his age and puts on amazing british accents. The best billy eliot!!
Colin is pretty good dancer indeed James – I find his personal style to be a bit more aggressive than the one of Liam trough – which is not necessarily a bad thing
I agree with James colin bates has to be the best Billy Elliot to date, it will be hard to top him
i think you should have pictures of the new billy elliots aswell. you only have the old ones and thy don’t even do it any more!

I’m from Canada and I saw Billy Elliot this past week when I went to London for the week. I had the chance to see Colin Bates and yes, he is the best Billy. I;’ve seen so much footage of the others, and while I find Liam to be great and very deep, Colin just won me over. I’ll be watching his career very closely. His final performance in rthe musical is this week.
Billy Elliot has to be one of the best musicals i have every seen, and the set was fab!Colin bates is an amazing dancer, people say that he wasnt the best bily but i think he was an amazing actor and dancer… i cant wait to see him in other productions.
I think while most people favoured Liam, Colin follows closely behind. I have come to find that Colin has a strong following in the UK and its spreading around to the US. Billy Elliot was the best thing I have seen onstage. Training in acting myself, you would think that Theatre is always impressive to me. But it actually takes quite a bit to impress me onstage. So if I say this about Billy Elliot, you know its gotta be amazing hahaha. Colin is one of the most genuine and talented performers I have seen period. And as I said, it takes alot for me to think that way about an actor or a play or film. Ofcourse, he still has evolving to do, as any other actor, but he will do great things in the future.
I can’t believe that Colin Bates has quite I went to see him in January and he was amazing! He has a lot of talent and he could go far!
I have seen the musical with collin bates playing billy, it was his last performance and it was amazing. everyone in the audience cried!

Yes Kim a DVD with the musicale would be great , but I doubt that it would happen before they play it in the US. Other then that as I have said many times my all times fav Billy is Liam

liam he rocks the musical was great and i am mad about it i now know every word to every song and cant stop talking about it …..im obsessed.i went to go an see leon and thought he was amazing i would go and see it again.he acted very mature and he was gr8….a must see .i am the biggest fan of all the billy elliot fans all my friends woudl tell you that.i was so funny although there was loads of swearing all it did was help to express billy fellings therefore it was the best musical i have ever ever seen.xxxxxx

i saw leon on 28th may and he was just soo amazing i doubt any other billy could be as good as him…he danced sung and acted amazingly!!! and to alice 3 comments above…his bday is the 30th =] lol
