Just got the new album of Declan ” Thank you ” and decided to write a short review of my first impressions of it. Starting from the covers – the artwthem looks quite cool and the pictures are chosen very carefully.But then again the music if far more important that them . Let me say a few words about each song from the album :
“An angel” – video clip-originally performed by Kelly Family . Excellent performance of Declan – while listening to his angelic voice you most likely will feel the song especially if there is there is a person in your life who is like an angel to you. I enjoy singing along while listening to that song and am hoping to see a Karaoke version of it in the near future. An Angel – lyrics
Love of my life “ – originally performed by Freddie Mercury .Very calm and romantic song. Since Queen is one of my favorite bands and Freddie Mercury is someone I admire with all my heart – I was wondering if Declan will be able to sing that song good enough as not to make me angry with someone attempting to sing Freddie`s songs like on these stupid remixes so popular these days. Nights in White Satin- video clip- originally performed by The Moody Blues. My favorite song of ” Thank you ” Declan clearly demonstrated the capability of his voice performing this song.I agree with an opinion I saw at SongFacts that the ending of the song is the coolest part of it. Tears in Heaven originally performed by Eric Clapton.The track is a very touching new arrangement of this wonderful song. The guitars and especially the back vocals sound amazing. Tears in Heaven Lyrics

David’s Song (Who’ll Come With Me) – video clip
Yet another song originally performed by the Kelly Family. I am glad that Declan brings back such wonderful vibes -the spoken words in this song sound very nice and overall this song is one of my favourite ones from the new album of Declan. The lyrics can be seen here.
All Out Of Love
Originally performed by Air Supply – lyrics – very calm song , I did not know about Air Supply before hearing this song, but now will make sure to find some more song of this group. Declan performs the song quite good as well.
How Could An Angel Break My Heart
Originally performed by Toni Braxton. Trough I like the music of Toni Braxton I feel that song much more personal once I heard it performed by Declan. It may just be bacause my taste for treble music ( and yes I think that the Declan `s voice is still treble ) . This song is just perfect for dancing with the girl you love. Don’t get me wrong though, I think Declan is a HUGE talent… and his singing style actually is fairly suited to that song esp the way Eric Burdon performed it, but gawd the lyrics… its like that “some things just don’t match” commercial. I saw this 14yo blues guitar virtuosos perform with the John Mayal band and the kid was incredible, but then he played and “sung” Born under a Bad Sign, when he got to the part that goes… “I been on my own ever since i was Ten, hard luck and trouble are my only freind” well you get the idea

I would have agreed with you Riverside, however I also have declans album. And they have totally changed the words so that it fits Declan. And is now about watching a brother, be led down the bad path of drink. I read on the album sleeve and credits that the writing of the lyrics for this song, was like one hole huge effort from Declan, Alan Field (his manager) , Alec Galbraith ( Declans Dad) , and a couple of the producers.
You’re right Barry, I have since heard the album and the lyrics have been drastically revised, “he KNOWS of one,” no longer does he know I’M one. Oh well, not sure just what to think of it.

What an unusual and pleasant voice. Not a typical “kid” singer voice and yet certainly not an adult voice. I really enjoyed listening. He needs to come to America – I cannot find his music here.

Wow I just about 3 days ago heard ago Declan. I was on youtube.com and watching a Billy Gilman movie and a comment to it said to check out Declan and I must say I was blown away. This guy has amazing talent and I’ve never seen somone my age sing the type of music that he does and it’s nice and refreshing. But living in the States I thought it would be hard to get his new album but as Skykid said my friend was able to leagally download it for me, but I’m not quite sure where she got it from. But yeah, wow, he is very talented and I’m very glad I heard about him and his music.

Declan is probably my favorite artist. Espescially now. But the album still isn’t here & I’m worried that it won’t get here at all. His first album here is like 30 dollars because they have to ship it from the UK. & I really want to get it but dang, lol. Amazon doesnt even have it yet. Can anybody help me?

Hi, I just thought i would right a little msg to everyone lol! I first heard about Declan when i was about 9, i sang with him in a record attempt with Young Voices, and watched him live at the NIA in Birmingham,I was then obsessed with him for about a year lol! I then moved to highschool and i kinda forgot him, and now… 4 years later i suddenly decided to look him up again, and wow he is still as amazing as ever! Its nice to know there are other Declan fans just like me!! Can anyone tell me where i can get Declans new album in the UK? I have looked EVERYWHERE! Well, I have just listened An Angel – a friend send me link to hear online. What an awesome song, both of lyric and his angelic voice ! I’m going to adore him :”> He’s only 15, same to me, and his voice is so amazing, sometimes it reminds me Billy Gilman’s 3 years ago. Surely, I’ll buy his latest album :) .
