bastianThe Neverending Story is one of these classic movie that has a special place in the hearts of everyone who have seen it.  I am one of the biggest fans of the series  which is why I got quite excited when a friend of mine sent me a link item to an article in Reuters :  “NeverEnding Story” arrives at new beginning.

The Neverending Story story is a film that many people treasure for its coming of age value it focuses on the adventures of Bastian Balthazar Bux . He is a shy, bookish boy who is mourning the recent death of his mother. During a visit to an antique bookstore, he steals a curious-looking book titled The Neverending Story, and upon reading it he finds himself literally drawn into the story. The movie has many subplots and during his adventures Bastian learns a lot about himself and life in general .

Do you think that Warner Bros would  successfully  continue the sequel ? I would love to know your opinion on that.

  • Zaphod says:

As much as I might like to see another ‘sequel’ of sorts for The Neverending Story, I shudder to think what atrocities might be wrought by the hands of some ‘new’ director/producer. The original was perfect, TNS II was nice, TNS III was a waste of celluloid, and as much as I like Mark Rendall, Tales From The Neverending Story was just ghastly. Plus, WHO could ever equal, much less top Barret Oliver/Noah Hathaway as its stars? I say let’s just keep the originals and treasure them.

this is my 1st Im fall in love with fantasy movies, when I watch it feel sort part of him (sebastian), very good movies. I think they should make better sequel because the title itself is open end stories, because its is neverended..

I tend to agree with Zaphod that the first film – was perfect and the rest did not really manage to reach its class. However I am quite curious to see who is going to be picked for the role of Bastian – while Barret Oliver/Noah Hathaway have their star status – I am discovering new talented young actors almost everyday in the films I watch.

  • “Neverending Story” to be remade. Another one bites the dust. - Tami Stronach Fan Page says:

I agree with Zaphod. Treasure the Original.

Along with the remake of the film, I am looking for a producer for The Neverending Story on stage at Javits Convention Center in New York City. Both an opera and ballet score have been composed by Siegfried Matthus. Please refer to my website for more details by following the link below.

  • I don't think they will manage to capture the magic of the original (first one only) movie, but I am expecting Warner Brothers will get behind an enjoyable film. I am sure worth watching…
